In partnership with Cookies Social Impact, Curaleaf, Cresco Labs, Players Only, Black Enterprise Magazine, Digital Venture Partners, Black Cannabis Week and legal aid organizations, we are helping to right the wrongs caused by the “ War on Drugs”. Chicago State University
CSU is a Predominantly Black, public university in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1867 as the Cook County Normal School, it was an innovative teachers college. . In 1967, it became Chicago State University. CSU is a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Olive–Harvey College
Olive- Harvey is a community college on Chicago's far South Side located at 10001 S. Woodlawn Avenue, and is a part of the City Colleges of Chicago, the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation.
LAST PRISONER PROJECT
The Last Prisoner Project was founded in 2019 out of the belief that no one should remain incarcerated for cannabis offenses. They brought together a team of cannabis industry leaders, criminal and social justice advocates, policy and education experts, and leaders in social justice and drug policy reform to work to end this fundamental injustice. They are committed to freeing every last prisoner of the unjust war on drugs, starting with the estimated 40,000 individuals imprisoned for cannabis.
CANNABIS EQUITY ILLINOIS COALITION
The Cannabis Equity Illinois Coalition was founded in early 2019. The Coalition focuses its advocacy on expanding expungement of criminal records, increasing state funding for impacted communities, and making sure there is legitimate access to the industry for impacted entrepreneurs.
COOKIES SOCIAL IMPACT
Cookies’ Social Impact Program is comprehensive. Their mission is to target issues crucial to creating a more equitable and accessible industry. To accomplish this goal, they support social equity initiatives through public outreach, education and reinvestment in communities negatively impacted by the War on Drugs.
REEFORM CANNABIS
REEForm Cannabis was founded by Weldon Angelos. In 2004, Weldon became the national face of criminal justice reform after he was sentenced to 55 years in federal prison for selling roughly $900 of cannabis as a first-time offender. He advocates for the release of all cannabis offenders through his Mission Green Initiative and has launched REEForm Cannabis to provide financial support for those still incarcerated for cannabis offenses
